Apprenticeship duration and stipend:

The duration of the Apprenticeship can range from 6-36 months and Apprentices earn a stipend ranging between Rs 7,000 and Rs 10,000. (Could be more depending on the company)

Benefits of engaging Apprentices:

1. Steady stream of skilled workforce at entry-level
2. Apprenticeship route costs less than lateral hiring
3. No obligation to hire Apprentices on permanent rolls
4. It exempts them from contributing to EPF and ESI
5. It is considered a part of good corporate governance
6. Expenses incurred in the training can be claimed as CSR expenses.

Key benefits:

Under NAPS, 25% of prescribed stipend subject to a maximum of Rs 1,500 per month per Apprentice will be reimbursed by the government to all employers who engage Apprentices

Under Chief Minister Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (CMAPS), reimbursement of an additional Rs 1,000/- stipend per month will be borne by the Uttar Pradesh government.
